    New release soming soon

PostDateIconSunday, 25 March 2012 16:17 | PostAuthorIconWritten by Steve Moseley

We are working on a new release, with two new big features to address an issue that a lot of people are unhappy with, and that is, not having enough winning hands in Klondike.Hopefully you will be happy with what we have come up with. (And for those of you who are happy with the way it is, don't worry, everything will still work as it did before)

    1. Shuffling: At present we shuffle the cards so they are completely random. This is not how real people shuffle cards, when you and I shuffle a deck of cards, there are usually some cards that don't get properly mixed into the pack, there might be a sequence of 3, 4, 5 of clubs all together for example. So, the new version offers three ways to shuffle cards.

    a) Completely random. This is a very thorough shuffle, to remove all bias. This is how it is done currently, and it will remain the default.

    b) Overhand/Hindu shuffle. Most people use an overhand shuffle, or a hindu shuffle in eastern countries. This produces a good mix-up of cards, but is not completely mixed, short sequences still appear when the cards are dealt.

    c) Riffle shuffle. Casinos shuffle poker decks using this method. Produces a more thorough mixing than overhand, but not as mixed as a random shuffle.

    2. Winnable hands: At present, Klondike hands have about a 15% to 20% chance of producing a winning hand. (Nobody really know what the exact percentage is). However, if you would rather have a 50/50 chance of winning, or a 100% chance of winning, you can choose to play with Klondike hands that are known to be winnable (we have tested them first, so we can guarantee that these are indeed winnable hands)

Also, we are adding two new games, Accordion and La Belle Lucie.

We hope you like the new release !

    Problems resolved in v1.3.2 update

PostDateIconWednesday, 25 January 2012 01:42 | PostAuthorIconWritten by Steve Moseley

It appears that the force-close problems with the 1.3.1 upgrade were indeed fixed in the 1.3.2 upgrade. So, if you are experiencing force-close issues, please make sure that you upgrade to the latest version, which is currently 1.3.2.

If you are already using v1.3.2 and there are still problems, please let us know. (you can check your Patience Revisited version number in the menu, 'About')

We can't fix something we don't know about, right?  ;-)

    Problems with v1.3.1 upgrade

PostDateIconTuesday, 24 January 2012 14:13 | PostAuthorIconWritten by Steve Moseley

We have had reports of a force-close happening after people have upgraded from v1.3.0 to v1.3.1, and also v1.3.2.

Version 1.3.2 was supposed to fix this problem, but for some people it still happens.

If you are still using v1.3.1, please upgrade to v1.3.2 as this will fix the problem in most cases.

We are very sorry for this inconvenience, we are working on the problem right now and will release a fix as soon as we find out what's causing the problem.
