Forty Thieves
Challenging to win, but fun to see how far you can get.
This is a classic solitaire game that probably dates back to the nineteenth century.
It is a two-deck game, somewhat similar to Eight Off without the stocks.
It is difficult to win, and relies mostly on skill. Interesting at the end, as you hope there are enough spots to 'unwind' the stock far enough to get the one card you need to continue.
Difficulty: Medium to play, hard to win. Mostly skill.
Decks: Two
Variants: Eight Off, Cadran, Josephine, San Juan Hill, Number Ten, Rank and File, Limited, Lucas
Also known as: Napoleon at St. Helena, Big Forty, Roosevelt at San Juan, Le Cadran
