Yes folks, I'm afraid that the new bumper release (v1.5.0) has been delayed again. As you may recall, v1.5.0 contains lots of new stuff, including modern menus (ie an action bar) and a bunch of new games, and we started working on this about 18 months ago. However both Mark and I have been so, so busy with work commitments that we've hardly had any time left over to eat and sleep, let alone work on Patience Revisited in our free time. Ok, so that may be exaggerating a little, but the end result is that we have very little time left over for other things.

I have managed to work on and fix a nasty crash recently that has been affecting some of the new devices out there (Samsung? more crashes that only happen on Samsung phones? what's with that?). This patch is version v1.4.2 and is now in Google Play for you to download.

Also, just one other thing, if you do have any issues, please email us. We only found out about the recent crash by email (as neither of us have a Samsung phone or tablet) and we fixed it as soon as we found out (thank you John!). So, please let us know if you have issues!

And thank you so much for all the kind comments and words of encouragement - we really appreciate it! Sometimes we can feel a bit gloomy when we read comments telling us how much they hate this app - but not why they hate it - so being able to read nice uplifting comments does give us the motivation to keep going. We have found a problem with the menus that seems to affect new Samsung phones and tablets.
The problem appears when an app uses the old-style menus, rather than the Action Bar, which more modern Android apps are encouraged to use. Since this appears to be a Samsung problem, we can't actually fix the issue, we have to work around it by upgrading Patience Revisited to use the new Action Bar instead of the old-style menus, which works fine on all phones/tablets. Unfortunately the new Action Bar system will not work on Android 1.5 and 1.6, so those people still using those old versions of Android will not be able to receive Patience Revisited updates from now on. They will however be able to continue to run their present version of Patience Revisited, or download v1.4.1 or earlier from our website if desired.

Since the Action Bar allows the top menu items to appear as icons on the action bar itself, we have added a menu editing system, which allows the user to customise the menus themselves. The menu editing system will allow changing the order of the menu items and also hiding menu items that you aren't interested in seeing.

We have just finished the development for these features and are currently testing them, so hopefully the new release is not too far away.

We are working on a new release at the moment, which will include two main additions:

1) Another seven new games
The new games will be:
* Four new Canfield variants, Storehouse, American Toad, Chameleon, Gate
* Napolean and Kleine Napolean
* Algerian Patience

2) A more streamlined way of selecting a new game to play
This will also include a 'favourites' feature where you can maintain your own list of favourite games to choose from

Also, some minor bug fixes as well.

We have finished the bulk of the work, and are currently testing, so we will release as soon as it looks solid.

Release v1.4.1 was mainly to fix a problem where the suit symbols were not being drawn at the correct size (ie too small) on high density devices, such as the HTC DNA, HTC One, Galaxy S4 etc.

We also fixed an issue where a lot of people where finding it confusing that three cards were being turned over a s a group in Klondike (and Vegas). Now, be default, you can see the three cards being turned over separately, so it's more obvious what's going on. We also added a preferences animation option to 'group' these three cards together again, for those people who were comfortable with how it looked originally.
